Boredom is a common problem among children and adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), yet its impact on this psychiatric population is understudied. In this talk I will combine scientific findings with everyday observations to introduce what is boredom, how to deal with it and how it affects our lives. My presentation will include the emotional, cognitive and neural correlates of boredom, as well as our research work on the associations among boredom, difficulty of waiting, and attentional failure in youths with ADHD.
